Nate directs the research and development for Pioneer Oil in the areas of chemicals, energy conversion and subsurface devices. He also leads the Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) laboratory at Purdue University which focuses on developing chemical solutions to maximize oil and gas recovery. Nate has a joint appointment with Purdue’s Davidson School of Chemical Engineering.
Prior to joining Pioneer Oil, Nate was at Halliburton where he held roles of increasing responsibility within their Technology organization. As a technology leader Nate was accountable for managing personnel, research and development activities, commercialization strategies and intellectual property portfolios.
Nate is an active member of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) where he currently serves on the Completions Advisory Committee and various awards committees. He is an author on more than 40 technical publications and an inventor on 22 granted patents.
Nate received his BS and MS from Missouri State University and his PhD from Kansas State University all in chemistry. Upon graduation, he was a Fulbright Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Strasbourg, France.
